A Presentation of our Upcoming Online Virtual World for Kids
The team from Bubble Gum Interactive was proud to have taken part in the Independent Games Developer Association Sydney Indie Developer Show & Tell. The event was held on Tuesday 26th July at the Bank Hotel in Newtown, a suitably funky venue. There must have been well over 100 people there and it
Paul gave a short presentation about Little Space Heroes, our upcoming virtual world for kids. We shared our thoughts on why storytelling is so important in designing a game and how we’ve worked hard to provide ways for kids to really use their imagination as they play. There were some great questions from the audience on topics such as safety, game play, business models and the technical aspects of how we’re building the game. We also got to show a rough cut of a video trailer we’ve been working on. You can now view this at our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/littlespaceheroes.
There were a bunch of presentations at the event and it was great to see how many amazingly talented people there are in Sydney (and Wollongong) who are creating some awesome new games, transmedia projects and other fun things. Needless to say there was a lot of chatting and sharing of ideas after the presentations too.
It’s great to see the IGDA being so proactive in showcasing and supporting the local games industry. We hope to take part in more events in the future!
