Little Space Heroes wins Gold in 2012 W3 Awards
Sydney, Australia 19th September 2012 - Independent Children’s Entertainment studio Bubble Gum Interactive is over the moon to announce that Little Space Heroes, its acclaimed virtual universe for kids has been named among the best social games and kids websites in the world, winning the Gold Medal – General Website, Children’s category and the Gold Medal – Game or Application, Social/Networking.
As if two swags of gold wasn’t enough, the team also took out Silver wins in three other categories including General Websites – Games and Gaming Related and Game or Application – Children. With such a medal sweep, we’re not quite sure where to fit everything in the office!
Hosted and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, the W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, games, videos and marketing programs. Now in its seventh year, the W3 Awards received over 3,000 entries from around the world.
“Little Space Heroes is shaping up to be the biggest kids virtual world on the planet, with tens of thousands of kids playing every day from over 100 countries. Our team has worked incredibly hard to jam-pack the game with fun and adventure and it’s a tremendous honor to be named a double Gold winner in the 2012 W3 Awards” said Phil Mason, CEO.
Much more than a virtual world, Little Space Heroes is a compelling new virtual universe in which kids create their own Space Hero and embark on an epic intergalactic adventure. Blending an original story with collaborative social play and an ever-expanding game universe to explore, Little Space Heroes is primed to grow rapidly in 2013 and beyond. In addition to the virtual universe, the Little Space Heroes story is soon to be told via an animated cartoon series and games for mobile devices.
Winning two W3 Awards adds to an incredible swag of independent endorsements for Little Space Heroes. The game has now won more awards and accreditations than any other kids virtual world including Creative Child Magazine’s 2012 Game of the Year, a Mom’s Choice Silver Medal, a Parents’ Choice Award, the COPPA compliant kidSAFE+ Seal, the Family Friendly Videogames Seal of Approval as well as ESRB E for Everyone and PEGI-OK Ratings.
