Online Marketing Executive

Bubble Gum Interactive is one of Australia’s hottest gaming companies. We’re the creators of Little Space Heroes (http://www.littlespaceheroes.com), an award-winning new virtual universe for kids.

We’re in a phase of fast growth and are looking for an energetic online marketing executive with outstanding skills and experience in online marketing. This role is focused on achieving acquisition and retention goals through comprehensive multi-channel online marketing campaigns and activities. This includes planning, creating, managing and tracking online advertising campaigns, SEO, SEM and electronic direct mail activities. This role also involves assisting with social media management. Additionally, this role involves producing valuable insights and reporting for senior management.

Reporting to the CMO, you will play a pivotal role in the continued success of Little Space Heroes. If you live and breathe ‘online’, can set up and manage multi-channel campaigns in the wink of an eye and want to work at a company where you’ll feel truly inspired and amazed every day then this might be the job for you!

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create and execute multi-channel targeted online marketing campaigns designed to achieve goals and metrics set by the Chief Marketing Officer.
  • Produce and manage regular eDM campaigns in line with customer lifecycle model.
  • Assist in Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing activities
  • Provide clear, comprehensive reports using a range of reporting tools and features.
  • Assist Chief Marketing Officer in planning, developing and refining customer lifecycle model to optimize performance.
  • Produce competitive research and analysis for use in the planning of future strategies/campaigns and for internal distribution across the business.
  • Provide product marketing support for Bubble Gum Interactive across its online games portfolio
  • Assist Chief Marketing Officer in using social media channels to engage with customers and promote the brand. This aspect of the role will grow over time.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience in an online marketing role with demonstrated track record of managing successful B2C online campaigns
  • Passion, enthusiasm and experience in online advertising
  • Experience with web analytics tools, specifically Google Analytics
  • Experience with Google Adwords and other third party advertising platforms
  • Ability to effectively organise complex datasets into clear and succinct reports using your advanced knowledge of Excel and/or statistical analysis packages
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations in succinct and actionable manner using PowerPoint or other tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Solid understanding of brand management principles
  • Good knowledge of the social media landscape and various tools including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and other B2C services
  • Highly organised & structured approach with an uncompromising attention to detail
  • Interest in working with brands for children and families
  • Interest in gaming
  • Fluent English
  • A second language is highly desirable

Linux Systems Administrator – Massively Multiplayer Game Servers

Bubble Gum Interactive is one of Australia’s hottest gaming companies. We’re the creators of Little Space Heroes (www.littlespaceheroes.com), an award-winning new virtual universe for kids.

We are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to be a key member of the Bubble Gum Interactive Game Operations Team. Within the role you’ll manage our Linux server architecture, deployment, integration, maintenance, monitoring and support. The day-to-day tasks include remote configuration, automated installations, systems integration and architecture, troubleshooting, hardening and deployment of Linux and Linux-based application servers on company administered hardware as well as remote datacentre hardware.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Manage and maintain operational Linux environment with 30+ servers and install packages and applications (Specific knowledge of RHEL/CentOS would be a plus!)
  2. Monitor system performance, backups and daily jobs
  3. Deploy web applications and implement/improve automated deployments
  4. Work with developers to architect and enhance applications
  5. Plan for future capacity and scaling, and assist as needed with stress and load testing initiatives
  6. Manage Incident management- the sys admin will be responsible for owning outages from reporting to resolution

Requirements

  • 2yrs+ experience as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator
  • Experience with high volume and multi-server environments supporting highly available, customer-facing services
  • Experience scaling web applications in a highly available environment
  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, including basic network engineering and routing
  • Experience with web application server (Apache2, Tomcat)
  • Experience with opensource databases, specifically PostgreSQL
  • Experience with opensource software
  • Solid scripting experience (bash, perl)
  • Knowledge and understanding of security and firewalls and secure best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding on multiplayer game/socket server would be a plus
  • Experience with the monitoring tool Nagios and adding/implementing custom plugins would be a bonus
  • Continually strive to automate and streamline operations and maintenance processes by identifying areas of improvement, writing scripts, and documentation
  • Excellent communication, organization, project prioritization, and time management skills
  • Keen troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and without direct supervision
  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends on occasion as required by running a production environment; willing to be “on call” during these hours as needs arises

Additional skills not required, but are a plus and you will get the opportunity to learn and move into different roles as well!

Entry Level Flash Games Developer

Bubble Gum Interactive is one of Australia’s hottest gaming companies. We’re the creators of Little Space Heroes (www.littlespaceheroes.com), an award-winning virtual universe for kids.

We’re in a phase of fast growth and are seeking a talented entry-level flash developer interested in gaming. This role will assist in the development of casual flash games and content production in collaboration with the flash game team.

This role involves game design and development, content integration, as well as making refinements and improvements to the virtual world and mini-games.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate mini-games into the virtual world
  • Designing and creating game levels
  • Rendering 3D characters for the game and cleaning up the animation
  • Setting up backdrop and room files for the virtual world
  • Develop HTML pages and eDM templates for the website

Requirements:

  • Excellent AS3 skills
  • Solid-to-Excellent knowledge of Flash CS4 and above, and an understanding of game production and animation
  • Knowledge of HTML, Java, OOP and Flash socket communication server i.e. SmartFox is a bonus
  • A love of casual gaming and an interest in virtual worlds
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
